The first alcoholic beverages out of the deal between Dr. Dre and Drinks America are on their way, so get ready for Aftermath Cognac.
As previously reported, Dre, Interscope Geffen A&M Records and Drinks America formed a partnership earlier this year in which the super producer would help develop and market premium non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. And now, a new cognac in on the way.
According to Billboard.com, Drinks Americas Q4 earnings were released on Monday (August 4) and the company said it would introduce Aftermath Cognac in the next 60 days. The production, supply and European distribution of the cognac will be handled by Abecassis Cognac, a cognac producer.
An 80-proof flavored and unflavored sparkling vodka will follow within 60 days after Aftermath Cognac.
According to the earnings statement, both beverages will be introduced around the same time as Dr. Dre's long awaited Detox album, as a part of an integrated marketing plan.
The information sounds about right too. Dre said himself last month, via an interview with USA Today, that Detox would be out in "November or December."
